Making a difference.
One person, one family & one project at a time.

Since June 2021, GUIH has served the homeless people on the streets of Melbourne. We exist to provide those in need with a sense of hope, and to let them know that they are not alone during times of difficulty.
Our Projects DonateWho We Are
Since June 2021, GUIH has been serving people experiencing homelessness across Melbourne. Our purpose is to bring hope, dignity, and connection to those in need, and to remind them that they are not alone during times of hardship.
GUIH was founded by our Chairman, Alister Fuller, whose experience since 2017 working closely with people experiencing homelessness in Melbourne’s CBD highlighted the growing need for consistent, compassionate outreach.
Alongside co-founder and social worker Garnet, Alister brought together a group of like-minded individuals with backgrounds in social work, community development, and lived experience to establish a coordinated response to homelessness and people experiencing hardship and vulnerabilities. This led to the formation of GUIH in June 2021.
GUIH exists to give people experiencing hardship hope and to let them know that they are not alone during difficult times. Our aim is to journey with this cohort of people in finding ways in bridging the gaps in services and getting them back to some stability in life.
I can do what you cannot do. Together we can do great things.

What We Do
Through regular outreach in Melbourne’s CBD, we have expanded our services to include Sunbury, St Albans, Sunshine, Werribee, and Dandenong. During these engagements, we identified increasing levels of food insecurity and social isolation within the community. In response, we established free community meal kitchens.
Since 2023, we have been operating a free meal kitchen in Sunbury, with further expansion to Tarneit and Brimbank in 2025. These kitchens provide more than just meals—they create safe, welcoming spaces where people can connect without judgment.
Our programs are designed to support the whole person:
• Warm, culturally appropriate meals that promote belonging and inclusion
• A safe, welcoming environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect
• Access to social work and community support services
• Donated pantry items for individuals and families in need.
Through these initiatives, we also reach people who are often isolated behind closed doors, offering companionship, care, and practical support. At GUIH, we believe every person deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported—especially in times of struggle.
